Dr. Pat Armstrong is a Distinguished Research Professor in Sociology and a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada. Focusing on the fields of social policy, women, work and health & social services, she has published widely.
She is co-director of the Ontario Training Centre at York University, a member of the Board for the York Institute for Health Research and served as both Chair of the Department of Sociology at York, and Director of the School of Canadian Studies at Carleton. She is a board member of the Canadian Health Coalition and the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives.
Dr. Armstrong is Principal Investigator on “Reimagining Long-term Residential Care: An International Study of Promising Practices” and on the CIHR funded “Healthy Aging in Residential Places”
