The convenors of our Dragon Boat group just brought us news of their activities and successful fundraising this year, with gratitude to the donors. In their own words…….
“Congratulations to the paddlers of the “Sync or Swim” dragon boat team! Twenty plus women including alternates practiced every Wednesday evening for six weeks in May and June with the Burloak Canoe Club. We were blessed with warm and sunny weather and we often saw “Hughie the Heron” flying overhead. We also competed in the Mississauga Dragon Boat Regatta held in Port Credit on June 9th. The Dragonboaters are very grateful for the donations received for the Scholarship Fund. This year we raised $2600.00 for the CFUW Scholarship fund!! A big thank you to everyone for sponsoring and supporting the team! Above is a picture of us in our dragon boat.
