Oakville North-Burlington MP Pam Damoff shone a light on the issue of threats and abuse in politics.  In May she announced she will not seek re-election and cited as factors the toxicity and incivility in politics.  CFUW Oakville advanced our policy intention last year, specifically addressing the need to advocate for ending violence against women in politics.  Pam had been a supportive resource as our advocacy team prepared that resolution. 

For our May dinner, we are pleased to once again enjoy the music of Valentyn Zadoianov, and Irina Samarin. Valentyn and Irina are professional musicians, and part of the Two Families band who entertained us at Christmas displaying a unique flair of Rhythm and Blues, Classic Rock, Jazz, Folk music, and Soul. They are recently arrived from the Ukraine and now live in Hamilton, Ontario.
