Registration for the the 2014-2015 year will take place between 6:30 and 7:45 pm. This is also a social time to reconnect after the summer. New members are welcome!
The business meeting will begin at 7:45 pm followed by a terrific speaker, journalist and broadcaster, Michael Enright, to kick off our new year. The title of his talk: A Life in Words.
Michael Enright has been an important figure in Canadian print and broadcast journalism for close to 40 years. Michael can currently be heard on CBC Radio One’s Sunday Edition. Prior to joining The Sunday Edition, he hosted many popular CBC Radio shows including This Morning, As It Happens, Sunday Morning, Cross Country Checkup and Daybreak. Michael has written for The Toronto Star, the Globe and Mail and Time Magazine. He was also the editor of Quest and managing editor of Macleans.
Michael Enright is known for his superb interviewing skills and exceptional investigative reporting that breaks through the boundaries of standard news broadcasting . He also speaks with authority on issues surrounding the media, including media literacy and the future of journalism. He was appointed to the Order of Canada in 2012.
Please join us for our September meeting where Michael Enright will speak about his long and varied career, sharing personal anecdotes and opinions about what is going on in Canada and around the world. Come out and put a face to that famous voice.

Following the business session which starts at 7:45 p.m., Dr. Norman Farb, Assistant Professor of Psychology, University of Toronto, will speak. His topic:
“The Oak & the Reed: Mindfulness & the Art of Aging Well”

Following the business session which begins at 7:45 pm, photographers Jim and Sue Worthington will present: “Following in the Footsteps of the Group of Seven.”
This delightful dinner sells out every year. Join us at the Harbour Conference and Convention Centre for an hour of socializing between 6 p.m. and 7 p.m. followed by a delicious meal. After dinner, Chris Mei, TV Announcer & Emcee, will delight the audience with his talk: “The Forecast is Entertaining.”
